01 - The Story
Forged in Thailand. Proven in the UK.
Alex MacGregor didn't learn Muay Thai from the sidelines. He earned it the hard way - living, training and fighting in Thailand, sharpening his craft in the same rings where the art was born. 67 fights later, most of them on Thai soil, he returned home carrying titles and a record that speaks for itself.
Unbeaten in the UK since 2017, Alex has held the British WMO title and the WBC Muay Thai belt, ranking as the UK's #1 Super-Welterweight. Now based in Edinburgh, he passes that experience on - with the same discipline and respect for the art that carried him to the top.

04 - The Gym
Gorgie Fight Gym
Home is Gorgie Fight Gym - an old-school Muay Thai club in the heart of Edinburgh, built on community and run with a personal touch. Most people walk through the door just to get fit and shift a bit of weight. A lot of them never leave.
Start where you are. Get fit first - then, when you're ready, step into sparring and clinch and begin rubbing shoulders with the fight team. It's usually right there that people realise the ring is within their grasp. Because we're a small gym, everyone gets real one-to-one time, so you progress far faster than you would lost in an overcrowded room. Elite coaching, proper personal attention, and coaches who've won the belts to back it up.
A closed six-week course on the part of Muay Thai that decides fights. Small group, same faces every week, built from the Thai clinch work Alex used to win his titles.

Waiver & refund policy
Participation waiver+
Muay Thai is a full-contact sport. By booking a place you confirm that you take part at your own risk and that you are medically fit to train. Clinch work involves sustained close contact, knees to the body and controlled off-balancing.
You agree to declare any injury, illness or condition (including pregnancy, concussion in the last 30 days, heart or joint problems) to Alex before your first session, to train within the rules given in class, and to stop immediately when told to. Participants under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign.
Neither Alex MacGregor nor Gorgie Fight Gym accepts liability for injury or loss beyond that which cannot be excluded in law. You are responsible for your own gloves, wraps, gumshield and groin guard - a gumshield is mandatory for weeks five and six.
Refund policy+
Cancel more than 14 days before the first session for a full refund. Between 14 and 7 days, 50% is refunded. Inside 7 days the fee is non-refundable, because the place has been held and the group size is fixed.
Places can be transferred to another person, or to the next course, once and free of charge if you give at least 48 hours' notice. Missed sessions cannot be refunded or carried over, but you can catch up in a regular gym class.
If a session is cancelled by Alex it is rescheduled; if it cannot be rescheduled that week is refunded pro rata. Long-term injury with a doctor's note is refunded pro rata for the sessions you miss.
